What's New in GapFix 1.1

3 min readUpdated October 2, 2026

GapFix 1.1 is on the App Store now. It's a free update for everyone. Here's what changed and where to find it.

Your plan in under a minute

Building a 12-week plan used to take about three minutes. Now Week 1 arrives first, with a summary for every other week, so the roadmap appears in under a minute. Weeks 2–12 fill in over the next couple of minutes on our side, even if you close the app. Day 1 is written in the background at the same time; if you tap Start before it's ready, the lesson's opening scene plays while the rest is written.

Hear lessons read aloud

Tap Listen on a lesson or Booster page to hear it in a natural voice: the reading, the set-up, the question, and the choices. It plays with your ringer on silent and lowers your music while it talks. Read-aloud is part of GapFix Pro and the 7-day trial. With no connection, GapFix uses your iPhone's built-in voice.

My Boosters

Library › Collections now has My Boosters: every Booster you've started or finished. Filter by status (In Progress, Completed) or type, sort by last opened, completed date, title, or progress. Tap an unfinished one to Continue where you stopped or Start over.

Boosters count when you finish them

On the free tier, opening a Booster no longer uses your one-a-day slot. Only finishing it does. You can have two unfinished Boosters open at once, so it's fine to change your mind.

Lessons that are easier to get through

  • Shorter questions. Set-ups are a sentence or two in plain words, and the question sits on its own line in bold. (This applies to newly written lessons and Boosters.)
  • One button. On pages where you answer something, the bottom button does the job first (Reveal, Check, Lock it in) and then becomes Continue.
  • Back keeps your answers. Go back a page and your choice, typed text, or sorted order is still there. Nothing is scored twice.
  • Code that looks like code. Code samples sit in a dark card that scrolls sideways, with a Copy button.

A better first run

New users see a short How GapFix works story before the first question, and a three-stop Home tour the first time they reach Home. Adding a second plan with + on the Plans tab now uses the same quick flow as your first one (a second plan is part of Pro).

Celebrations

Finishing a lesson, a Booster, or Daily Practice now gets full-screen confetti or fireworks, in a different style each time. Level-ups got the same treatment. Prefer things calm? Turn on Reduce Motion in iOS Settings and the effects are skipped.

Runs on more iPhones

GapFix and its widgets now need iOS 18.0 or later (it was 18.5 for the app and 18.6 for the widgets). That covers iPhone XS, XR, SE (2nd generation) and later.

A clearer Pro screen

The Pro screen now shows Free and Pro side by side for each feature, and spells out what happens when you subscribe: the price today, Apple's reminder email before renewal, and the renewal date. Tap Add renewal reminder for a reminder from GapFix too.

Getting the update

Open the App Store, tap your profile picture, and pull down to refresh; GapFix appears under updates. Or turn on automatic updates in Settings › App Store. Something not working after updating? Email support@tickets.samgit.com.
